This is a recipe for gluten free apple pie.

You can use either bramley or granny Smith apples you want a tart apple for this pie.

For this recipe you want a full pie because there is nothing worse than an empty pie so have the pie full to the top with filling.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Make the pastry as per recipe add 2 tbsp sugar.
  2. Mix together the sugar, cornflour, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the apples to the sugar cinnamon mixture and give it a good stir to coat the apples leave to stand
  4. Preheat the oven 180c /160c / gas 4 and place a baking tray to heat up.
  5. Cut off 1/4 of the pastry this is your lid and wrap it back up in the cling film.
  6. On a floured surface roll out the rest of the pastry and line the pie dish making sure you push it down so you dont get air bubbles.
  7. Put in the apples in layers so you get them tightly compacted and spoon over any juices you have.
  8. Egg wash the edges.
  9. Roll out the rest of the pastry and place on top push down the edges.
  10. Cut off any access and put a air hole in the middle.
  11. Any pastry left over you can make decorations.
  12. Egg wash the top
  13. Place dish on the baking tray and cook for 45 – 55 minutes.

This can be served with custard, ice cream or my favourite cream enjoy x
